Rainwater Harvesting back

There are several factors which are crucial to the success of the design and installation of any rainwater harvesting system. Calculating the storage tank size is particularly important.

Other factors concern installation requirements and precautions. These include:

  • rainwater collection and filtering
  • tank connections
  • overflow arrangements
  • isolation of mains water from rainwater
  • pump systems

Water Conservation (Rain Water Harvesting)

As concerns grow over the sustainable levels of clean water, and with parts of the Southern UK under hosepipe and water usage restrictions, there is growing pressure upon the consumer to find alternatives to using mains water for use in the garden and for irrigation.

Part of the solution lies in collecting and saving a large proportion of rain that falls on to roofs, car parks and flat areas, especially during the winter months, this natural source of water can be stored in above ground or underground tanks and used as required by the owner with no restrictions.

Rainwater is collected from the roof and filtered before being collected in an underground tank. A choice of submersible or self priming pump set then draws water through a floating intake and delivers water at mains pressure to dedicated pipe work systems for W.C. flushing, laundry, car washing and garden irrigation
